| Pebbles
from the Adriatic Sea are placed on a mirror and covered with a piece
of glass on which is written a sentence from Musil's "Journal" of 1918.
It says: Spiritual victory is indeed more terrible than the victory won
by weapons." During the most recent war, objects found by chance in the
artist's atelier become the only witnesses to his existence, his bond
with the outside world and previous life. "Traces" are materialized memories.
Sea pebbles placed on the old stone wall of the Culhan join two memories,
or two remaining elements in two natural-cultural contexts. |
